Madeleine Murphree is a graduate research assistant at the University of Florda, pursuing a master’s degree in civil engineering. She previously earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida in 2022. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Madeleine assisted with the 2019 National Champion Concrete Canoe Team and was the Mix Design Captain for the 2021 National Champion Concrete Canoe Team. For her graduate studies, Madeleine is focusing on concrete cracking and mass concrete durability.
Madeleine is passionate about all aspects of concrete and the concrete industry, including the American Concrete Institute (ACI). She serves as Chair of the Student Leadership Committee (ACI S-805), and has won several awards from ACI, including the 2020 Concrete Materials Fellowship, and the 2023 Bertold E. Weinberg Scholarship. She recently appeared on the ACI Engineering Greatness Podcast, where she discussed her journey to graduate school at the University of Florida.
