Noah Breder is an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Florida, currently completing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. His research experience includes the mechanical and environmental testing of road-base and concrete composites incorporating municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) bottom ash as coarse and fine aggregates with the Sustainable Materials Management Research Lab (SMMRL). As an assistant in the concrete materials research group, Noah is actively contributing to projects that characterize mechanical and environmental properties of electric arc furnace (EAF) slag in concrete as well as develop concrete surface and depth profiles through pencil-beam Compton backscatter radiography. Noah looks forward to continuing his education as a graduate research assistant with the concrete materials research group in Fall 2026.
